East Rules and Regulations

  1. An executive board consisting of the Program Director of the Greater Michigan East League, and one Adray Representative from each association, Will make the final decisions on all league matters.


  2. Each association will have one vote in making league decisions. The Program Director will vote only in ties.


  3. Prior to an Executive Board decision, all matters of divisional involvement will first be attempted, in writing, to your Adray Representative, to be resolved within the division.


  4. Each association shall conduct their draft in accordance to the M.AH.A and A.H.A.U.S. rules, and be approved by the Executive Board.


  5. Every effort will be made to use equal ice time systems in all divisions. (Squirts-Midgets)


  6. In the event a player or coach receives a game misconduct penalty during, before, or after an Adray League game, that player or coach shall sit out the balance of that game, and the next Adray League game. If the team's next scheduled games is not an Adray League game, the player or coach shall sit out that game, to adhere to M.A.H.A. rules. Note: This could result in a player or coach not playing or coaching for the balance of the game in which the penalty occurred and two (2) more games.


  7. The G.E.M.A.B.L shall be governed by the rules and regulations of M.A.H.A. and its affiliates.


  8. Game protests on all matters other than the referees judgment must be filed with the Program Director of the Greater Michigan East League, or an Adray Representative, in writing not later than 24 hours after completion of the game involved. Written protests must contain all the facts and must be accompanied by a protest fee of $25.00 which will be returned if the protest is upheld. Officials must be notified at the time of protest so that it may be announced to all officials and the public. (The fee will be forfeit if protest is turned down.)


  9. Only team players in uniform, two coaches and one manager are allowed on the player bench, per M.AH.A. rules.


  10. The Home Team must furnish the game pucks, at least two registered referees, a timekeeper, and at least 50 minutes of ice for all scheduled league games. NO TIME OUTS ALLOWED IN ADRAY LEAGUE GAMES. When uniform, colors are similar the home team must provide and wear pullover sweaters.


  11. The coach is responsible for the conduct of the players at all times, before, during, and after the game.


  12. If less than six (6) players are available for play at the time the referee drops the puck, the game will be forfeited by the team that does not have the required amount of players. No game will be played. Home team can use the ice for practice. The only exception to this rule will be In the case of extreme weather in Which case the game must be rescheduled within 30 days or before the last league game.


  13. All games in 11 years and under, 13 years and under, 15 years and under, 17 years and under, shall consist of a minimum of three (3) ten minute periods of stop time play. In rare cases an arena ice clock may overrule this by-law and shorten the 3rd period.


  14. All teams shall abide by published schedule with games starting on time. If any changes are required, they must notify the schedules from the two teams involved to be rescheduled.


  15. If any new association would like to join the G.E.M.AH.L. a majority vote by the present Executive Board would allow a new association in the league.
