Greater Michigan East Division
Play-off Rules

1. All scheduled games will be played according to MAHA/USA Hockey playing rules.

2. All scheduled games will be played according to the schedule published at the West Michigan Adray Playoff Scheduling meeting. There are no exceptions.  If a team fails to participate in any playoff games, the head coach and coaching staff will be suspended from league play the following season as per the East Michigan By-laws.

3. All teams are expected to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to any scheduled playoff game.

4. All Protested games must be noted on the score sheet and must follow the guidelines as set in the Greater East Michigan By-Laws.

5. All games will be played using the following rules. There are no running clocks allowed. There are no Time-outs.

                      Mites     3-10 Minute Periods
                    Squirts    3-10 Minute Periods
                 Pee Wee    3-12 Minute Periods
                 Bantams    3-12 Minute Periods
                  Midgets     3-15 Minute Periods

6.  All playoff and championship games must be played to a final determination.  If at the end of regulation time of a championship game the teams are tied, the tie shall be broken as follows.

      a. Three, five (5) minute sudden death overtime periods will be played in the following way:
1st 5 minute over time play 5 on 5, 2nd and 3rd 5 minute overtime period 4 on 4. The teams will not change ends.

      b. If after 3 overtimes periods the game is still tied, there will be a five(5) minute rest period and the game will proceed into a shootout. Each team will identify 3 players to participate in this shootout,and give this list to the time keeper/scorer. At the end of this shootout the team that has scored more then the other wins. If after this shootout there is not a winner, we will go into a sudden death shootout. The remaining players on each team will have an opportunity to participate in this shootout, the first team to score in each 1 on 1 match will win the game where the other team does not score. No player may participate a second time in a shootout until all players have shot once.

   These rules were approved at our end-of-season meeting on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 and are in effect immediately.
